At Kenyon's Soo Bahk Do we are committed to the principle goal of martial arts as stated by our founder Grandmaster Hwang Kee:

...to develop physical skills and techniques while at the same time developing their character.

Since 1968, Kenyon's Soo Bahk Do has been providing quality martial arts instruction to the San Diego community. For 23 years, Studio owner and Master Instructor Daymon Kenyon (7th Degree) has carried on the tradition of martial arts started by his father, the late Master Fred Kenyon. His wife, Master Vicki Kenyon (5th Degree) is the head instructor at the Solana Beach studio and his two daughters represent the 3rd generation of martial artists in the Kenyon family.

Kenyon's San Diego Soo Bahk Do and Karate Studio was founded in 1968 by the late Master Fred Kenyon. The first Karate studio was a combined Surf Shop and Tang Soo Do in La Jolla which later became a full martial arts studio when it moved to Pacific Beach as a Korean Karate and Judo studio. Master Kenyon's Tiny Tot's Program provides children under the age of 6 a great opportunity to learn the martial arts while building lasting friendships. The class is designed to help young children strengthen both physically and mentally in a fun and encouraging environment. The children's classes are based on the traditional Korean Karate art of Soo Bahk Do and are available at both our San Diego studio locations. Watch a Children's Karate Class video.

Master Daymon Kenyon became a midnight blue belt (equivalent to black belt in other Karate styles) at the age of 12 and was ranked #1 internationally at the age of 22. He is an appointed member of the Board of Directors for the U.S Soo Bahk Do organization and the senior member of the Technical Advisory Committee, which sets the standards for our art form.
