Where can I park my car?

Both our studios have off street parking and our Pacific Beach studio also has limited on-street parking. At our Solana Beach Martial Arts Studio there is off street parking both in front of the studio or behind. If you park behind the studio you will have easier access to the changing rooms.

At our Pacific Beach studio you may park at the Valero gas station next door to us. We just ask that you park either at the wall just below our sign or closer to Ingraham in the painted spots so as not to block the metal disks that cover where the big gas tankers come into the service the Valero station.

Where do I change into my uniform?

You can come to class dressed in uniform or you may use the dressing rooms, both our San Diego Studios have a separate Men's and Women's changing rooms. Our Pacific Beach studio also has a unisex shower facility. We do ask that when training you do not wear any jewelry, watches or rings and recommend you leave those in your car or at home prior to training.

How does the attendance system work?

Attendance cards are maintained on an annual basis and keeping them up to date is an important record of your progress and also criterion for your advancement to subsequent belt levels. The cards will be placed below the trophy cabinet in boxes organized by last name. After completing your card we ask that you leave it on the stack with your fellow student's cards.

Why do we bow?

The bow is a gesture, to show respect and consideration in the martial arts of Soo Bahk Do and the other martial arts we practice at our studios. In addition to bowing to each other we also respond with "Yes Sir" and "Yes Ma'am" when addressing a senior studio member, instructor and as a sign of respect to other students.   Students bow to the head instructor when he/she is first entering and leaving and students bow to each other whenever beginning and ending their practices.  All classes begin with saluting the flags which show our respect to our country and acknowledge the freedom we have to practice our martial art. Students also salute the flags when stepping onto or off the mats.

What is the studio's Holiday Schedule?

Both our Martial Arts studios are closed on typical National Holidays. Information of all studio closures will be announced in classes as well as posted here on our website. Additionally, we have an active email group that keeps communications flowing between students and the studio. Again, if there is any change in the regular schedule, the instructors will make announcements during class.
